The registration process will not be considered complete until you have completed your conference ticket purchase.

Ticket prices are listed below. Prices shown below do not include taxes - these will be calculated during checkout


  • All prices are in Canadian Dollars

  • Only VISA/Mastercard accepted


  • We are required to charge taxes based on whether you are in Quebec, outside Quebec, or outside Canada.

  • Non-Canadian attendees are charged a tax amount that is based on a portion of costs.

Cocktail Reception

  • A cocktail reception will be held on 19 June at the McGill Faculty Club

  • Entry to the cocktail reception is included for all conference attendees

Conference Dinner

  • A conference dinner will be held on 20 June at the McGill Faculty Club

  • All faculty/postdoc attendees have a ticket to the conference dinner included in their registration.

  • Sudent tickets do not include dinner. However, students are welcome to purchase a separate dinner ticket​.

  • All attendees (including faculty) are welcome to purchase an extra dinner ticket for a guest.

Workshops and Field trips

  • We are currently planning workshops and field trips. Entry to workshops and field trips will be included for all conference attendees

Non-academic attendees

  • If you are an urban planning professional attending the conference, please select the Faculty/Postdoc rate. Student rates are reserved for those currently enrolled in a post-secondary academic institution.

Attendance, Purchase, and Refund Policy

1. Attendance

  • Purchase of a ticket is a condition of attendance of CUPUM 2023.

  • If you complete registration but do not finalise the purchase transaction within 7 days of registration, your registration will be cancelled (a reminder will be sent).

  • If you request a ticket refund you will not be able to present at the event. If no author for your paper presents at the conference, your paper will be removed from the proceedings.

  • CUPUM 2023 is an in-person conference. All attendees are required to purchase a conference ticket. One exception will allow for virtual presentations - see clause 8 below (COVID-19).

  • Full ticket prices will apply to all conference attendees.

2. Currency

  • All purchases for the CUPUM 2023 conference are in Canadian Dollars.

3. Payment Methods

  • We only accept Visa and Mastercard as payment methods.

4. Service Fees, Processing Fees, Taxes

  • Prices advertised on our website display the ticket price before taxes are added. We collected tax as required by federal and provincial law. Taxes will be calculated based on your location and applied at checkout. Additional service and processing fees may be charged at checkout by the payment platform.

5. Ticket Transfer

  • If you wish to transfer your ticket to another individual, please contact us first.

6. Cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances

  • If the event is cancelled, we will issue a refund minus a withholding fee to cover costs incurred up to date.

7. Refunds

  • Refunds must be requested by the ticket holder.

  • We will accept refund requests up to two (2) weeks prior to the event (Monday 5 June, 23:59 Eastern time).

  • After Monday 5 June 23:59 (Eastern time), refunds will not be accepted.

  • Refunds will cover the cost of the ticket minus a 10% withholding fee.

8. COVID-19

  • If you are unable to physically attend the conference due to circumstances beyond your control (such as a border shutdown), we will accommodate a virtual presentation to avoid deregistration. If you experience such a situation, you must notify us and provide: 1) proof of the event preventing your attendance, 2) proof of your plans to travel to Canada (including plane ticket and visa [if applicable]). Refunds will not be provided for virtual presentations.
